Green Light For North Clare Housing Development

Clare County Council has given the green light for a housing development in Liscannor.

The decision will pave the way for the construction of an assortment of new residential units.

Yellow Bay LTD is set to commence the building of 14 new homes on a 930 acre site in Liscannor.

The development will take place on lands adjacent to Lower Quay and Holland Drive on residentially zoned land in the village and will consist of 11 four bed detached homes, a single 3 bed detached unit and 2 two bed units.

The project will include all ancillary works involving open space amenities, individual electric vehicle charging points lighting columns, boundary walls, drainage infrastructure and the provision of 33 parking spaces.

The houses are located around a central courtyard space providing vehicular and pedestrian access, while the homes will be serviced by new connections to the public water supply and sewerage system.

Clare County Council received nine public submissions during the decision period, as a result the Local Authority granted approval for the development subject to 22 conditions.

Yellow Bay LTD , had initially sought to construct 15 homes, however Clare County Council has granted permission for 14 only.

Furthermore the Local Authority has insisted that all units must be principal private residences and not used for short term letting or overnight commercial accommodation.
