Fear That Up To 1,400 Homes In Clare In Long-Term Mortgage Arrears

It’s feared there could be up to 1,400 families in Clare with long-term mortgage arrears.

Figures released by the Fr Peter McVerry Trust reveal that there are more than 700 family home loans across the county in arrears for two years or more.

The housing and homelessness charity is calling on the new government to prioritise extending the mortgage to rent scheme to help struggling homeowners – the scheme sees tenants pay an affordable rent to stay in their family home.
