This is the latest in a number of social housing schemes in the pipeline from Clare County Council that are intended to put a dent in the county’s long housing waiting lists.

Latest figures show there are more than 2,700 households on the Council’s housing list, with over 1,100 of those looking for accommodation in the Ennis area.

A design team’s been appointed to develop 20 new houses on the Gort Road, at a location between Fernhill and Glenina.

A public consultation event on the project will open tonight, where it’s understood an opportunity will be provided for interested stakeholder groups and individuals to share their views.

Clare County Council’s told Clare FM that details relating to the design of the proposed development to include surface water design & flood risk assessment will be made available for the public to view on the night.

The event takes place there between 6pm and 8pm this evening in the Buttermarket Building on the Drumbiggle Road.
