Clare County Council says it will begin the process of collecting vacant site levies from the 13 vacant sites on its register in the coming weeks.

The local authority is among 12 local authorities which have failed to collect any money due under the vacant site levy, since the levy’s introduction in 2018.

By contrast, Cork, Galway, Sligo, South Dublin, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, Meath and Kildare have all recorded multi-million euro valuations for vacant sites annually.
