Clare County Council is calling on the Housing Minister to broaden the criteria of eligibility for affordable housing in the county.
It comes after the local authority recently sought expressions of interest from people looking for affordable housing in the Ennis and Shannon areas.
Councillor PJ Ryan raised the matter at this month’s meeting of the local authority earlier this week, with a number of councillors indicating a need to extend it beyond those areas.
