Commencement Notices In Clare Between July and September Up 30%

There has been a 30% rise in commencement notices in Clare between July and September of this year, compared to the same period in 2022.

Almost 70 property notices were submitted to Clare County Council in the last quarter.

A commencement notice informs the local authority that a person intends to carry out works or a change of use to a building which the Building Regulations apply.

In total, 69 notices for residential units were issued in Clare in the third quarter of the year, which represents a 32% increase on the figures from the same period last year.

In September alone, 19 notices were issued in Clare.

In addition, there were 32 residential units commenced in the county last month with 18 of these being one-off builds.

Only nine of the country’s 31 local authorities had a higher figure than this county in September, including Cork County, where 49 commencement notices were issued.
