Clare Pyrite Group Chair Says Proving Damage Like ‘Finding Blade Of Grass In Croagh Patrick’

The Chair of the Clare Pyrite Action Group says proving links between structural damage and the defective mineral on impacted homes here is like ‘finding a blade of grass in ‘Croagh Patrick’.

It comes as Clare County Council has told members of the group it believes up to 350 local authority homes in this county could be impacted by pyrite.

This county is still attempting to gain access to the State’s Defective Concrete Blocks Scheme, with the Department of Housing outlining this week that the Council has yet to prove a “causative link to actual damage arising from pyrite”.
