The Vice Chair of the Clare Pyrite Action Group is hopeful redress can be provided to affected homeowners in this county within the next 12 months.

It’s after Housing Minister Darragh O Brien’s visit to Clare on Friday, where he pledged a decision on the Council’s application to become eligible for the Defective Concrete Block Scheme ‘within weeks’.

Only pyrite and mica affected homes in Donegal are currently availing of the scheme, with the Minister telling homeowners here he ‘expects’ Clare to soon fall under that bracket.
