Clare Pyrite Action Group Critical Of Assessment Process To Access State Redress Scheme

The Chair of the Clare Pyrite Action Group is criticising the assessment process for households to access the Defective Concrete Blocks Scheme.

Representatives from this county, along with other impacted areas of the country, have appeared before the Oireachtas Housing Committee, as part of considerations to waive pre-legislative scrutiny of the Bill to provide compensation.

The Department of Housing asked Clare County Council for ‘further evidence’ of pyrite in this county following initial assessments last year, before the county was rubber stamped into a redress scheme earlier this month.
