Clare Planning Permission Approval Rate Up 50% In A Year

Over 200 housing units were granted planning permission in Clare in the first quarter of the year.

The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office shows a significant increase in the number of homes receiving approval in the county in the last twelve months.

A total of 249 domestic dwellings were given the green light in Clare between January & March.

The figures is 83 more than the 166 such properties, granted planning permission during the same timeframe of 2022, representing an annual increase of just over 50%.

However, Clare still is ranking among the lowest counties nationwide in terms of approval granted for apartments.

Of the 5,513 apartments receiving planning permission across the country in the first quarter, just 7 are in Clare.

Although when the focus switches to Housing Units , the 242 residential properties getting the go ahead here is the 5th highest total nationally , with Clare seeing significantly more activity than areas such as Dublin City, Dun Laoghaire, Galway & Limerick.

Elsewhere planning permission was also granted for 54 extensions and 19 conversions in the county in the first three months of the year.
