Clare Housing Committee Chair Urges Minister To Visit County To Grasp Local Rental Crisis

The Chair of Clare County Council’s Housing Committee is calling on the Housing Minister to visit the county so as to properly grasp the crisis facing renters locally.

Reacting to Darragh O’Brien’s comments that linking rent increases to inflation would be fairer than rent pressure zones, Shannon Councillor Gerry Flynn says this doesn’t provide protection to renters in Clare.

The Independent Cllr believes the Minister is failing to acknowledge that Clare is among many counties in Ireland which are not designated rent pressure zones.
