Clare Housing Chair Predicts Nearly 400 Need Social Housing Adapted For Disabilities

The Chair of Clare’s Housing Committee believes far more people require social housing specifically designed to cater for a disability than initially thought.

Clare’s Housing Strategy for Disabled People up to 2027 has been discussed at the Council’s Social Development Committee meeting, where it was revealed that 299 people currently on the social housing list will require specialised accommodation.

However Shannon Independent Councillor Gerry Flynn believes that figure could be much closer to 400, given the draw down on home adaptation grants.
