Clare Developer Calls For Site Screening On Developed Lands Amid Housing Concerns

A Clare developer is calling for the local authority to screen every zoned residential site in the county to see whether it can facilitate the building of houses.

It follows continued concerns about the pace of house building here, with more than 50 of this county’s towns and villages not having adequate wastewater infrastructure.

It’s led to fears that much of the land zoned in the new County Development Plan for residential use will never be able to be built on as a result.

Larry Brennan of Ennis-based Woodhaven Developments believes Clare County Council and its elected members may need to go back to the drawing board on the matter.
