More than 800 new social houses are earmarked for Clare within five years.
Figures released through the Oireachtas show 834 homes are envisaged to be built in this county between 2022 and 2026.

200 of them are due to be built next year, with 149 to come on stream in 2023.
Around 1,300 households are in need of social accommodation in Clare, with the local authority previously acknowledging to Clare FM that it accepts ‘many households are frustrated’ by continued supply issues here.
However, Chair of the Housing SPC and Shannon Independent Councillor Gerry Flynn is doubtful the numbers forecast will be delivered.
