The Ennis-based service provides support, information and refuge to women and their children experiencing domestic abuse.

Its Service Manager is encouraging women who are suffering domestic abuse to contact them saying 79 per cent of women don't come forward for help when incidents occur in the home.

73 families have availed of refuge services from Clare Haven so far this year and Denise Dunne says many families return to the family home due to a lack of housing.
