Two hijackers, who forced a Libyan plane to divert to Malta, have freed all 118 passengers and crew.

The men had claimed they were carrying grenades, and are believed to be loyalists of late Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi.

They've now surrendered, and been taken into custody.

Fabian Demicoli from the Maltese news organisation Net News says the government's taken steps to increase security at the international airport
