Details of a letter from the newly appointed director of acute hospitals are reported in today's Irish Times.
In it, Tony O'Connell claims there's been a 'generally poor' response to requests from the HSE for hospitals to publish plans on how they'll contain their costs.
Separate HSE figures up to the end of February show that spending at Ennis General Hospital is 4.5% under budget, but the budget at University Hospital Limerick had been overspent by 4.1 million euro or 16.8%.
