It’s hoped promotion of water activities on Lough Derg will attract some of the 1.4 million visitors to the Cliffs of Moher into East Clare.
New information signs, a canoe storage rack and a new 3-unit service block have been installed at Dromaan Harbour near Whitegate – funded by Waterways Ireland and the local authorities.

The Lough Derg Canoe Trail is also under development and expected to be operational by next summer, which aims to bring more water activities to Ireland’s third-largest lake.
Leas Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council Whitegate Councillor Pat Burke believes they’ve a lot to offer.
