Residents in Kilkee are hoping that a permanent solution to the issues regarding diving boards at Newfoundout will be resolved by next summer.

There will be no boards in place for this year's tourist season, after their manufacturer declined to approve them as being 'fit for purpose' at the proposed location.
As a result, the Council cannot accept liability for the boards, a decision which Kilkee Chamber says it understands.
Ger Casey is an organiser of the annual Pat Lawlor Memorial Diving competition, which was due to be held at Newfoundout next weekend but now won't be going ahead.
