Hopes are high in one West Clare community that the search for a new GP there will soon come to a successful end.

The future of family doctors in rural Ireland has been in focus this week, amid reports that the HSE is to increase financial supports to them.
However, Kilmihil-based Dr. Michael Harty has warned that much more will be needed in the way of supports to make rural areas attractive to GPs.
19 areas nationwide currently have a vacancy for a GP, including Kildysart which has been covered by a locum for a number of months.
However, Oliver Garry, a former Councillor from the village, is optimistic the role there will be filled.
