It's hoped new regulations on the ownership and operation of drones will make the airspace around airports like Shannon safer.

Under legislation being debated in the European Parliament, all drones weighing over 250 grams will have to be registered with authorites, a change from the current Irish limit of over 1 kilogramme.
The rules will also seek to ensure that those flying drones in a public place are sufficiently skilled to do so.
Ireland South MEP Deirdre Clune says while the devices have many benefits, they also present risks.
