Hopes That New Accord Signed By World Leaders Will End Refugee Crisis

It's hoped a new accord to be signed by World Leaders at the UN this week will help bring an end to the refugee crisis.

The United Nations General Assembly is set to adopt a new declaration which aims to put a frame work in place to deal with large movements of people. 

Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan is due to address the gathering – one of the last hosted by outgoing UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.

A truce in Syria is due to come to an end at sunset and Syrian refugee Ahmad Al-Rashid says he doubts whether it'll have a lasting impact.
