The Department of Education has approved plans for a state-of-the-art building for St Finnachta's National School, which will include 24 classrooms, a special needs unit, and general purpose and resource rooms.
The project will now progress to tender stage and a builder will be appointed in the coming months.
No definite timeline has yet been outlined but Principal Of St Finnachta's, Garreth Heagney hopes work on the project will get underway shortly after Christmas.
