Clare County Council is to introduce a mobile CCTV programme in an effort to tackle illegal dumping around the county.

The cameras will be in place at unnamed locations, and will be in operation day and night to capture high-quality footage of the perpetrators.

Sixmilebridge Fianna Fail Councillor Alan O'Callaghan has been a long-time advocate of the measures and is confident they will help address Clare's illegal dumping problems.
