It’s hoped all roads will lead to Shannon following talks of potential aviation links with South America.
Negotiations are underway on a new Air Services Agreement which would link Ireland with Brazil.

There are currently no direct national flights to South America , meaning travel paths are limited to connections through European or Middle Eastern hubs.
Meelick Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe says the focus now is on making the case to airlines that Shannon is the right choice.
