More than 2 million euro is being sought from government to expand the the Colaiste into a year round service.
A submission has been made to the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht with the outgoing Minister for Gaeltacht affairs Joe McHugh having visited the school last year.
Currently the college offers Irish language classes in Carrigaholt in June, July and August, however Ard Mhaistir Domhnall O'Loinsigh says there's a huge demand of courses right the year round.
He says there growth of Coláiste Uí Chomhraidhe would also offer cultural, tourism and economic opportunities for Co. Clare.
