Hopes Investment Will Revitalise “Declining” Clare Communities

It’s hoped a new Government funding announcement will result in the revitalisation of “declining” Clare towns and villages.

The Department of Housing has confirmed that 231 homes under 82 new projects will be built across Clare and 12 other counties thanks to a €436 million investment nationwide.

This county is also set to receive €325 million under the Social Housing Second-Hand Acquisitions Programme which is intended to provide supports to combat homelessness.

Speaking on Clare FM’s Morning Focus, Killaloe Fianna Fáil Councillor Tony O’Brien, who’s a member of the county’s Social Development Strategic Policy Committee, says the areas of greatest need will be prioritised.
