Hopes are high that Galway's successful bid to be the 2020 European City of Culture will have benefits for Co. Clare.

The winners fought off stiff competition from Limerick and a joint bid from Waterford, Kilkenny and Wexford and will co-host the title with the Croatian city of Rijeka.
It'll be worth an estimated €170 million in terms of funding and tourism and it could also bring several thousand new jobs.
Clare County Arts Officer Siobhan Mulcahy says ties between Clare and Galway are already strong and this event has the potential to strenghten them further.
