It’s hoped following a strong start to 2025, that Clare will surpass its previous record for yearly solar panel installations.
Last year 948 domestical solar panel installations were seen across the county and following 172 new installations through January and February it’s forecasted Clare will reach 1,000 this year.

While SEAI data shows that over €2 million was awarded in grant funding for the installation of solar panels in 2024.
Editor at EnergyEfficiency.ie, Briain Kelly (Irish Pron BREE-IN), is worried however, about the impact the reductions seen in individual grants may have.
