It’s hoped the bestowing of a prestigious accolade on a North Clare village will result in local young people taking an interest in environmental conservation.
Corofin Tidy Towns has been named this year’s national winner of the ‘Young Persons in TidyTowns’ award which is just the second time the community has been honoured at the annual ceremony.

This year saw a record level of entrants in the competition with over 900 communities throwing their hat in the ring.
James Organ of Corofin Tidy Towns says most young people become involved of their own volition.
