It's hoped funding announced for the redevelopment of New Quay Pier will be further built on in the future.
112 hundred thousand euro has been earmarked for the reconstruction of sections of the pier and steps at New Quay as well as the upgrade of the stone pavement.

It's one of 25 piers and harbours across the country to receive a portion of the 1.6 million fund, which has been announced in addition to the 1.4 million euro already allocated to areas which suffered storm damage in the past two years.
Clare TD Pat Breen says it's a significant amount of funding and he hopes there will be more to come.
