The Managing Director of Trump’s Doonbeg Hotel and Golf Resort has expressed hope that a planned extension will provide a significant boost to the local economy, if given the green light.

Plans have been formally lodged for the proposed 40 million euro development which includes a ballroom, a leisure facility, restaurant, 53 new dwellings to be used for short-term tourist accommodation, and other facilities.

A series of meetings have already been held within the local community to discuss the planned project, and submissions can be lodged with Clare County Council until December 3rd.

Managing director with Trump International Golf Links and Hotel, Joe Russell, has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that the development would provide significant benefits for the region.
