It’s hoped construction will begin on a new ambulance base in Kilrush by the end of this year.
The National Ambulance Service has confirmed to Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Cooney, that a capital submission will be made to the HSE for the construction of a new ambulance base in the west of the county.

The current base, located at Kilrush Nursing Home, has been deemed unfit for use as there is capacity for just one ambulance on site.
Bodyke Deputy Cooney, says although these processes can often be drawn out, he’s optimistic work will begin before the start of next year.
