A Clare retailer is hopeful consumers across the county will reap the benefits of a new recycling initiative being launched today.
Under the Deposit Return Scheme, an extra charge of 15c to 25c will be placed on cans and plastic bottles, that can later be recouped for store credit or a cash refund.
To do this, customers must submit their empty containers with the Re-Turn logo to one of 1,800 reverse vending machines nationwide.
Gerard Haugh, Owner of The Next Door Off Licence in Ennis, Kilkee and Kilrush says the environmental opportunities on offer for homes and businesses are immense.
