Hopes That Carrigaholt Gaelcholaiste Could Become Major Employer

It’s claimed a Gaelcholaiste in Carrigaholt could become the biggest employer in the Loop Head Peninsula, if funds are ring fenced to bring the project to fruition.

Coláiste Eoghain Ui Chomhraidhe, which is steeped in history, is looking for funding in the region of between 1 and 2.6 million euro, to develop it as a full-time destination for both locals and tourists as a seaside cultural hub.

The Coláiste’s management made it’s case to the Minister for Regional Economic Development, Michael Ring as part of his visit to West Clare yesterday.
