Hope That Drugs Arrests Will Drive Down Crime In Clare

A Sixmilebridge councillor is expressing hope that the rising number of drug-related arrests will drive down crime rates in this county.

It comes after Clare Gardaí revealed a big increase in the number of people arrested for possession of drugs, and for either drink or drug driving.

A total of 47 were arrested for those offences between January and March, which Clare Gardaí are putting down to new roadside breathalysing equipment.
