Homes and businesses in North Clare are being urged to conserve water.
It comes as some water levels supply schemes across the county are experiencing water shortages and reduced pressure due to low reservoir levels.
Uisce Éireann says high demand for water, combined with the ongoing low rainfall in North Clare is to blame for water shortages in North Clare.
The utility is appealing to customers to conserve water to give the reservoirs time to replenish, following a very dry period, and with the warmer weather currently being experienced and more forecast, supplies are expected to come under further pressure.
It says it will continue to monitor the levels at all its supplies over the coming weeks and months and will take any actions that may be necessary to maintain supplies, including communicating about localised issues as they arise.
The areas affected include Ennistymon, Lahinch, Fanore, Kilfenora and Ballyvaughan.
Homes and businesses are being advised that any reduction customers can make in usage can collectively result in significant supply improvements for all customers.
People are being encouraged to avoid power washing or using the garden hose, check for leaks on outdoor taps or troughs, minimise the amount of water used for paddling and swimming pools, and re-use the water for the garden or cleaning the car.
Members of the public can report any leaks in the public water network by contacting Uisce Éireann 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on 1800 278 278 or through the Uisce Éireann website – water.ie.
