The latest statistics from the Department of Housing shows 27 people were left without a home in the county in November, more than twice the number in January.
The latest figures from the Department of Housing show 246 people were without a home in the MidWest in the last week of Novemeber, 27 of those in Clare.
This is more than double the figure recorded at the beginning of the year – in January 2016, 13 people here were seeking assistance for homelessness.
Of the total amount, 42 were adults, 24 were from single parent families, and 79 were children.
There were more men seeking emergency accomodation – 150 were male and 96 were female – and while the vast majority were aged between 25 and 44, 7 were over the age of 65.
They were housed in emergency or supported temporary accomodation in B&Bs, hostels or other facilities.
