Homeless Charity Says “Outside The Box” Housing Solutions Needed In Clare

MidWest Simon says outside the box solutions are needed to tackle the homeless crisis in Clare.

It follows the publication of the charity’s latest ‘Locked out of the Market’ report which shows no properties in the region are available within Housing Assistance Payment limits.

Clare County Council has the flexibility to provide households on the social housing list up to 35% above maximum HAP rates to help them find homes in the rental market.

MidWest Simon CEO Niall Garvey however says the majority of properties available here are out of reach.
