A leading charity helping the homeless of Clare has recorded a near 500% increase in the number of people and families seeking their help over the past year.

The Midwest branch of Focus Ireland has told Clare FM that it’s receiving an average of 28 requests for help each week, up from a recent average of just six.
It comes as Ministers discuss a plan to eradicate long-term homelessness, and as Social Protection Minister Joan Burton confirms rent supplement limits won't be looked at until the Budget in October.
