Novas Initiatives, which operates in a number of counties, including Clare, provided support to over 2,200 people in 2014 compared to 961 in 2010.

The organisation says they’re finding difficulty in securing a home for some people, because of the shortfall in the number of homes available for rent.

Communications and Development Officer Una Burns is welcoming recent rent certainty measures but believes they don’t go far enough.
