Gardaí are advising people to take extra steps to ensure their home heating oil is secure.
It follows a report of a full tank of home heating oil being stolen from a home in the Drumquin area of Barefield sometime between the 31st of December and January 2nd, while the family were away.
Electric gates into the property were also damaged.
