The Minister for the Environment is due to announce details of a remediation scheme for homes affected by Pyrite.

Phil Hogan will be joined by John O’Connor, Chairman of the Pyrite Resolution Board, for this afternoon’s announcement, which will also explain proposed funding for the scheme.
Thousands of homes built during the boom years are affected by pyrite, which can cause significant structural damage to properties.
Already, a redress scheme has been announced for 12,500 homes, which will cost an estimated 40 to 50 thousand per property to repair.
