A famous former Clare grocery store could be converted to apartments under new plans.
Guerin’s Foodstore and Newsagents on Old Mill Street in Ennis had served the town for over 60 years before closing in 2014, while the building itself was the inspiration for famous Irish Folk Song ‘The Stone Outside Dan Murphy’s Door’ written by Feakle man Johnny Patterson.

Padraig Guerin has lodged plans to convert the building into three one-bedroom ground floor apartments.
Clare County Council is due to make a decision on September 24th, with public submissions being accepted until September 3rd.
