The state’s health service quality watchdog says its monitoring hospitals in the Midwest although it has not launched a formal investigation.
Addressing a Dáil Committee on Health this week The Chief Executive of HIQUA said it received concerns about the hospital group which comprises of hospitals in Ennis Limerick and Tipperary relating to emergency department problems and other issues.

Tracy Cooper said the HSE had drawn up action plans to deal with the concerns raised and that Hiqa had been monitoring progress on these issues over the last several months.
