Hillwalker Injured Near Doolin Yesterday

Emergency services were alerted after a hillwalker became injured on a cliff path near Doolin yesterday.

The alarm was raised after a 25 year old German National got into difficulty on the cliff path between Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher around 12.30 in the afternoon.

Doolin Coast Guard were notified by Gardaí in Ennis and teams carried out searches in the area.

The injured woman and her brother were located twenty minutes later at Cúinne Bán, south of Doolin.

Team members provided first aid and the injured was transported to the HSE ambulance at the scene for further treatment.

She was transported to University Hospital Limerick where she was treated for a suspected broken ankle.
