High Trolley Numbers Continue At UHL

The region’s main hospital remains one of the busiest in the country, as the week begins.

The latest figures from the INMO show there were 55 people waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 36 of those on trolleys in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is one shy of the busiest hospital in the country; Cork University Hospital, on a day when 390 patients were waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.

The UL Hospitals Group has warned that the ED has been exceptionally busy in recent days and has appealed to people to consider all their care options before presenting, such as their GP, GP out of hours service or the Injury Unit at Ennis General Hospital.
