Nurses are reporting extremely high levels of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.
The latest INMO figures show there were 91 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 48 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 15 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when there were 660 patients waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
