High Level US Delegation Jet into Clare

A host of US political figures jet into Clare today for a landmark visit to the county.

The 40 key members from the Illinois Senate and House of Representatives will meet with tourism and business interests over the coming days.

This visit is organised by Clare County Council who will host a presentation for the travelling delegation being lead by the Senate President and House Speaker at Aras Contae an Chláir in Ennis on Monday.

The US delegation will meet two Shannon-based Illinois firms, local business representatives and regional development agencies such as IDA Ireland, Shannon Development, the Mid West Regional Authority and Enterprise Ireland on Tuesday. 

They are also due to  visit West Clare and the Cliffs of Moher, as well as attend functions at Dromoland Castle and Bunratty Castle.

Clare County manager Tony Mulcahy says the delegation’s visit to the county is not just a vote of confidence in the region but also sends out a clear message to the wider business community that Clare and surrounding counties can and do offer real opportunities for investment."
