A High Court Challenge against Clare County Council’s decision to allow a sea wall at Trump’s Doonbeg hotel and golf course has been put on hold.

Environmentalist Peter Sweetman brought a challenge against the local authority last December, and also put a stay on any appeal before An Bord Pleanála.

The case is against the Council but Trump International Golf Links Ireland Enterprises Ltd, An Bord Pleanála and the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht are all notice parties.

The case was mentioned during yesterday’s vacation sitting of the High Court, and the Irish Times reports that the parties have agreed to adjourn the action, and lift the stay, to allow An Bord Pleanála consider an appeal against the decision.

The case has been listed again for mention in October, and An Bord Pleanála will not issue any decision on the appeal before that time.
